> Things to do to go to Bhutan from Dhaka by road:
To go to Bhutan by road, you will first have to get an Indian transit visa (double entry). The entry and exit port while getting a transit visa is Changrabandha/Jaigaon.
(Currently, India does not issue transit visas to Bangladeshis)
How to go to Bhutan from Dhaka by road: First, you have to take a bus to the Burimari border in Lalmonirhat. Several buses including Hanif, Anas, Burimari Express, Shyamoli, SR, Manik, Nabil Paribahan leave from Dhaka’s Kalyanpur-Shyamoli-Gabatoli. The fare is between 800 and 2000 taka. These buses leave Dhaka by 9 pm. The next morning, i.e. early in the morning, they reach Burimari. The name of this side of Bangladesh is Burimari, and the name of the other side of India is Changrabandha. The border opens at 9 am.
After completing the immigration work on this side, you have to go to Changrabandha. After completing the formalities there, you have to take the north-northeast route to the ‘Joygaon’ border in West Bengal. You can go to Jaigaon from Changrabandha by taxi. It will take about three and a half hours. The taxi costs about 500 rupees per person. If you want to go to the reserve, it will cost 1.5 to 2 thousand rupees. You can also go by bus. There is also a Changrabandha-Joygaon bus service. In that case, the cost will be less.
From Jaigaon, you have to take a tempo to go to the Indian immigration point. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to go at a cost of 20/30 rupees. Then, after completing the immigration work there, you have to walk to enter Bhutan. The entry point to Bhutan is Phuntsholing. This is where you get the on-arrival visa for Bhutan. After entering Bhutan, you can stay at Phuntsholing. If someone wants, you can go to ‘Paro’ or ‘Thimphu’. The last bus leaves from the nearby bus stand at around 4:30 pm. You can go to Paro or Thimphu through the winding mountain road. It takes six hours.
